Pennyroyal was the beginning…
I believe that communities are stronger when each of us takes the time to experience and engage with the natural world, and to truly understand how we influence and are influenced by this larger ecosystem.
My experience with plants and education runs deep, from installing and maintaining interior plantscapes, working on an organic CSA vegetable farm, to building greenhouses in the highlands of Guatemala with the Peace Corps. In 2023 and 2024 I completed the Certificate in Holistic Landscape Design and Permaculture from Bastyr University and the Master Pruner Program through Plant Amnesty.
In 2008 I built a bi-coastal photography company, Stacey Vaeth Photography, and still work with my clients to this day.
My passion lives in the intersection of creativity, food, and the natural world. The first medicinal herb that I fell in love with was pennyroyal (sage, artemesia, valerian, and echinacea followed quickly thereafter). When I thought about a name for this company, Pennyroyal came to mind. But my Seattle friends all reminded me of Nirvana’s song Pennyroyal Tea, and well, Pennyroyal soon became Royal Green. It’s a name that’s a nod to my favorite herb, my love of color and that has a backstory that makes me smile.
